We describe the case of a 35-year-old male patient, who following infection with SARS-CoV-2 in March 2020 elicited persistent anosmia and ageusia since then. As soon as the pandemic began, the presence of taste and smell alterations has be described as a frequent clinical feature of the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID?19), with a frequency ranging from 19.4% to 88% of patients. Various pathogenic mechanisms have been suggested, including immune and neurosensory dysfunctions. Our observation clearly highlights the involvement of microbial comorbidities in the persistence of this very localized postCovid syndrome.
